WATCH HOW MOTIVATED YOU CAN BECOME TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR DIABETES

One of the hardest things in taking good care of your diabetes is staying motivated for the long haul. It can become burdensome to have to test and measure and poke and calculate.

After 12 years of diabetes, I was running out of steam. I had nothing left in me to keep on testing and measuring and poking and calculating. When I finally had the worst day of my diabetes life, I happened to stumble on the greatest secret to keep your motivation high.

Adventure!

When I have an adventure on the books, it changes everything. Diabetes is no longer about some complication the doctor threatened would happen to me in forty years anymore, it is about my adventure and being prepared so I will enjoy it.

I start paying attention to my Dexcom again, not to please someone else, but so I will know exactly how my body responds to a new sport.

And I choose foods that are going to make me stronger during my trip instead of foods that taste good only for the minute I am eating them.

I found out I can’t let a day go by where I don’t have an adventure or race to train for.

WHY I BUILT THE SEA PEPTIDE RACE TEAM

Hi, I'm Erin Spineto, founder of the Sea Peptide Salties, and one of the BIGGEST problems I have in taking care of my diabetes is this:

"How do I stay motivated to workout everyday so that my blood suagrs are the best they can be?

I would always try to workout only to find every excuse in the book to get out of it.

In short, I just wanted to pick a race, and then be able to do all of the prescribed workouts in my training plan

…Without missing a workout.

…Without running out of motivation.

…Without having to do it alone!

I just wanted to grab my training plan, and have a good race.

But I was never able to succcessfully do that.

Sound familiar?

It turns out, me, you, and everyone else has these same fears and problems.

And the existing training plan on the market was either a) too expensive,  b) left me to figure it out alone, or, c) had nothing to do with diabetes.

And that’s why I created the Sea Peptide Race Team.

(It does a whole lot more, too, as you’ll soon see)

THIS PROGRAM IS EASY TO USE...

AND GREAT FOR SMART PEOPLE WITH DIABETES WHO ARE LOOKING TO GAIN MOTIVATION TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF THEIR DIABETES.

Let me tell you why:

When I was trying to get back in shape after having two kids, I went back to the 5k training plans I found in magazines. They have the runs all planned out for you. All you have to do is follow them.

But the problem was, I couldn't seem to get myself out the door to run.

I knew WHAT to do, but I had no idea how to motivate myself to do it.

That summer I was introduced to another girl with type 1 who was having the same problem trying to get motivated to work out. We decided to meet once a week to workout and grab a quick bite afterwards.

Not only did that mean that I now had one workout a week on my schedule that I couldn't avoid (I wasn't going to cancel on a new friend), but I knew that I wanted to report back to her that I followed through with my other workouts that week.

That accountability held my feet to the fire. And I saw the results.

So, I built the Sea Peptide Race Team to ensure that you have the accountability you need to stay highly motivated each week. You'll check in with me each week and report out on how your training week went.

And you'll get to share with your teammates on the Team Training Page.

IS THIS TEAM RIGHT FOR ME?

  • Do you want more motivation to take better care of your diabetes?

  • Are you ready to run/walk your first 5k or run your first 5k in a while?

  • Do you want the accountability of a team to make sure you follow through this time?

  • Do you need help figuring out how to build a run/walk program so you can avoid injuries while both decreasing your time and incresing your distances?

  • Do you want to increase your bodies sensitivity to insulin by consistently exercising more?

If you said yes, to most of these questions, than we would love to have you on this team.

If you live in SoCal and want to train with fellow type 1's, check out the SoCal Race Team here.

If you are an elite athlete with more than 10 5k's to your name, than this probably isn't the right fit for you.

WHAT'S MISSING FROM A TRAINING PLAN I COULD GET IN A MAGAZINE, INSTEAD?

CAMARADERIE!!!

During your 10-week training time you will never be alone. You'll have 24-hour email acces to ask all of your questions.

You'll also have access to the Team-Only Training Page to chat about workouts, ask questions about what other teammates do with their diabetes, or to celebrate a new PR.

You will have life-time acess to this page to stay in touch with your teammates even after you have completed your race.

You'll also get to share the knowledge you have gained through your experiences with exercise and diabetes.

Let Me Take You Behind the Scenes...

When you join the Sea Peptide Race Team, each Sunday morning you will receive your runs and cross-training schedule for the week. That email will also include tips on running form, diabetes care, nutrition and gear ideas, and how to stay motivated.

At the end of the week, you'll email me with comments on how your workouts went and any questions that popped up during the week.

During this time you will get a chance to converse with your teammates who are going through the same training you are. You can share war stories and strategies for diabetes care.

After Week 1, we'll get a chance to talk on the phone for a half-hour conversation on how the plan works, your worries about running, your plans for diabetes care while training, how to find a local race, or gear and nutrition tips. Really, anything you need to succeed in training for a 5k.

After Week 8, we'll have another phone conversation about your upcoming race and any other topics you want to cover.

Then ten weeks after you start you'll line up at the starting line of a 5k, knowing you are ready to kill it. And so thrilled that, for the last ten weeks, you did diabetes really well. You'll post all sorts of pictures so that your teammates can follow along with you on Race Day.

Hopefully, this race will be the first in a long line of races and adventures.

SIZE DOES MATTER

For our innaugural race team, I’m only letting a handful of people join in the team. After our roster fills up, I will take down the sales page.

I know it sounds crazy, but I’ll tell you why:

I spent the better part of the year working on putting together the training program for this team, and I’ve invested a tremendous amount of capital to get this thing off the ground.

So you’d think I would want as many people as possible on the team on day 1.

But this team is meant to hold you accountable and provide you with the motivation to get into a regular habit of exercise with an ultimate adventure goal, and to teach you how to use an adventure goal to increase your motivation to take care of your type 1.

So I thought, “How can I make that happen in a very personal way for each and every person on the team? How can I do it without letting anyone slip through the cracks?”

There was only one solution...

If a team member has a problem, I want to be able to help them out right away. I just can’t do that if the team is too large. I want to be able to work with EVERY SINGLE TEAM MEMBER one on one.

(The success of our inaugural team members will be vital to the success of future teams. Plus, we want this team to have a great experience.)

You’ll get this hand-holding experience without paying a premium price that often comes with hand-holding. Cool?

Now, for everyone else: If you don’t join us for our inaugural team, it’s no problem. We’ll have future teams available to everyone in the coming year.

But, at that point, we will have the program all ironed out. So while you won’t get the hand-holding experience at that point, you WILL get access to our support community.

So, if this sounds like something that you would enjoy, jump on board. But do it quickly, if you don't want to wait for our next team sign-ups.

“HOW MUCH IS THE RACE TEAM?”

I’ll level with you:

If you were going to hire a personal coach to design a training program for you, the first consultation could cost you a hundred dollars…

AND YOU’D STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TRAINING PLAN AND TRAIN ON YOUR OWN!

But with the Sea Peptide Race Team, our main goal was this: You get a 10-week training plan AND you get to train with a group of people with diabetes that are having the same sturuggles you are.

Plus, what I didn’t tell you was this:

When you join the Race Team, you’ll get email access to me anytime you have questions.
